Grime-Grafter Keeps Trains on the Right Track

In January 2011 Go-Gum Ltd supplied two Grime-Grafter machines to Deutsche Bahn subsidiary DB Regio (Tyne and Wear) Ltd.

The machines are being used to excellent effect to clean upholstery, remove and dissolve chewing gum and steam clean the floors within the Metro carriages.

Tyne and Wear transport authority Nexus named DB Regio as the preferred bidder for a contract to operate the Tyne and Wear Metro for seven years as from April 1st 2010.

Robert Dixon, Managing Director of Go-Gum said: “DB Regio required a deep cleaning system which was powerful enough to perform a multitude of cleaning tasks but also manoeuvrable enough to work in the relatively tight confines of a Metro carriage. The Grime-Grafter Machine ticked all the right boxes and we are delighted to be helping tackle their deep cleaning demands. In particular they wanted to know how to dissolve chewing gum quickly and safely – the Grime-Grafter is the answer!”.
