Go-Gum on the Right Track

Birmingham New Street Station Protected with Pave-Saver

Go-Gum Limited have been awarded a two year contract to supply Pave-Saver to Birse Rail, part of the Balfour Beatty group.

Birse Rail are currently undertaking a mammoth two year rolling refurbishment of Birmingham New Street Railway Station. The station has twelve platforms and is at the very heart of the UK’s rail network. After a successful trial, Pave-Saver was selected to protect the stone paving which makes up the platforms and concourse areas of the Midlands transportation hub.

Commenting on the deal, Go-Gum Limited managing director Rob Dixon said: “With Pave-Saver being an impregnation treatment, not a coating, not only will it protect the platforms from discarded chewing gum and staining but will also preserve the natural look of the stone substrate.”

He added: “After conducting some trials at Birmingham New Street, Birse Rail were so impressed with Pave-Saver, they immediately decided to incorporate it into the 2 year rolling refurbishment programme.”

Pave-Saver offers exceptional penetration and stain repellent properties which are ideally suited to the protection of a wide variety of outdoor and indoor masonry surfaces that are subjected to heavy foot traffic. Additionally it protects stone and pavement surfaces from weathering and helps surfaces remain clean by actually repelling chewing gum, water, airborne dirt, acid rain, smog, industrial pollutants, oil and grease, dust and organic growth (lichens & moss).
