Go-Gum Clean and Protect Barrow-in-Furness Town Centre

Work on the multi-million pound facelift of Barrow-in-Furness Town Centre commenced in September 2009.

The project was divided into seven phases and featured the building of natural sandstone pavements with new street furniture, red granite bollards, benches, stainless steel bollards, lamp columns and litter bins.

In May 2011 the Go-Gum Street Cleansing team was asked to deep clean and protect approximately 12,800 sq. meters of paving using our Pave-Saver chewing gum and stain repellent product; this means any subsequent maintenance cleaning will lift chewing gum and staining far more easily.

The Go-Gum Street Cleansing team was also asked to re-varnish and protect 24 Dreadnought benches using the easy-on durability coating; this product offers over 20 years protection against graffiti.

Robert Dixon, Managing Director of Go-Gum Ltd said: “The Barrow Town Centre regeneration scheme looks fantastic and has given the local community a real sense of pride. I too am proud that Go-Gum Ltd have been able to play a key role in helping the regeneration effort that will sustain the cleanliness of the town centre for many years to come.”
