Post-Construction Clean Completes Harrow Town Centre Enhancement Scheme
Enhancing Harrow Town Centre
Work on the Harrow Town Centre Enhancement Scheme has been brought to its conclusion by the Go-Gum Group, with a post-construction deep clean and a double application of Pave-Saver.
Commencing in 2023, when funding was approved, the Harrow Town Centre improvement scheme works began in earnest in 2024, following public consultations and design approvals. The work was undertaken to support businesses and the local economy by creating a safer, more enjoyable town centre space for the whole community. Improving green spaces, access and sustainability were all key to the public space improvement plans and Go-Gum Limited were delighted to be part of the team delivering these improvements.

Working in tandem with civil engineering and highway maintenance contractor Riney, Go-Gum Group’s subsidiary Surface Solve Ltd, undertook a post construction deep clean and a double application of a Pave-Saver pavement protection solution to bring the entire project to a conclusion.
In all, 4,180m2 of new paving was deep cleaned, then protected from various forms of pollution with an application of Pave-Saver, our invisible paving impregnator and anti chewing gum solution. Pave-Saver offers years of efficient protection against disgarded chewing gum and bubble gum, water, oil, moss, carbon particulates, dirt, bird droppings and stain penetration.

Whilst enhancing Harrow Town Centre, our teams worked at night, so as to minimise disruption to local businesses and residents. As part of the general overall scheme, areas which were enhanced included parts of:
- St Anns Road
- Kymberley Road
- College Road (Photographed)
- Clarendon Road (Photographed)
- Headstone Road
- Greenhill Road
- Junction Road
- Station Road
- Greenhill Way underpass
- Greenhill Way alleyway

In total, three night shifts were required to complete this final stage of the Harrow Town Centre Enhancement Scheme. One operative undertook deep cleaning the new paving using the Go-Gum Lanceman DiBO chewing gum removal and post-construction cleaning machine. As each section was cleaned, a second Surface Solve Ltd operative followed behind applying the Pave-Saver invisible paving protector.
Rob Dixon, Managing Director of Go-Gum Limited commented: “The London Borough of Harrow has invested in an impressive town centre improvement scheme and Go-Gum were proud to play a small part in bringing this work to its conclusion. In enhancing Harrow Town Centre, all of the new paving has been cleaned and protected and will remain protected for years to come, thanks to the longevity of Pave-Saver.”
