Paving and Tarmac Cleaner at City Centre College Campus

City of Bath College Campus Clean Up

The City of Bath College is a well respected Further Education college in the centre of Bath, Somerset and 2017 marks 125 years of further education at the institution. This prestigious college has supported and educated generations of young students, helping them develop new skills, improve their career prospects and to ultimately find employment.

In preparation for this historic anniversary, the facilities management team at the college contacted us and asked for our help and expertise with a deep clean to 1,000 square metres of ground surface, in and around the city centre campus. The areas to be cleaned consisted of a mixture of both paving and Tarmac surfaces. The College’s facilities management team asked us to specifically tackle ingrained dirt, staining and algae growth to the paving and Tarmac on campus.

We despatched a two-man team to the City of Bath College and worked whilst the campus was closed for the 2016 Christmas Holidays. Our team worked during normal daytime working hours, utilising our specialist high temperature, low pressure cleaning systems. Our cleaning systems are safe to use on all paving and ground surface substrates using only water and steam as the main cleaning agent.

In areas prone to particularly stubborn contamination, we can use our specially developed, environmentally safe Grime-Lifter heavy duty cleaner. Grime-Lifter is a powerful, non-caustic hard surface cleaner which is both bio-degradable and highly efficient – perfect for removing stubborn dirt and staining, suittable for both paving and tarmac cleaner applications.

Commenting on the project, Go-Gum Managing Director Rob Dixon said: “We were delighted to be able to help the City of Bath College prepare for their 125th Anniversary Year. The staff and students returning to the faculty in January were delighted to find a clean, rejuvenated campus awaiting them, thanks to our specialist tarmac cleaner. The whole team at Go-Gum with the college a happy and prosperous 125th birthday.”
