Application of Chewing Gum Repellent at Didcot Parkway Interchange

Didcot Parkway railway station serves the town of Didcot in Oxfordshire. An improvement programme for the station began in September 2012 and represents the biggest single investment made at a railway station in Oxfordshire in many years (over £7,000,000).

Birse Civils Ltd, part of the Balfour Beatty Group, approached Go-Gum to perform a post construction deep clean and apply Pave-Saver invisible anti stain and chewing gum repellent to help protect the station platforms immediately following their construction.

In total the Go-Gum Street Cleansing Team deep cleaned 1600 sq. metres of natural stone using the Go-Gum Lanceman DiBO with waste water capture technology, before applying Pave-Saver. The programme of works undertaken by Go-Gum took just five days to complete.
