Surface Solve Ltd Demonstrate The Best Way To Clean Paving Slabs
Surface Solve Clean Up In Successful Sutton BID
The ‘Successful Sutton’ business improvement district (BID) is an independent, non-profit organisation led and funded by local businesses in Sutton, with the joint aim of helping to make Sutton town centre a better place to live, work, shop and do business.
The organisation was founded in early 2012 following a successful ballot among eligible local businesses within the newly proposed improvement district. These businesses now have a say on how ‘Successful Sutton’ deliver improvements in the area during each five-year period. In early 2017 a re-ballot was held and the majority of businesses and organisations in the district voted to maintain the BID for a second five-year term which now runs to 2022.
The Successful Sutton BID invest money to help promote the town centre area and improve the local trading environment. A major part of their remit is to help increase footfall, raise the town centre’s profile and ensue that the area remains safe, secure and welcoming for all visitors. In order to achieve these aims and enhance the town centre area, Surface Solve Ltd, the specialist Street Cleaning division of the Go-Gum Group, were asked for their advice and expertise on the best way to remove chewing gum, from paving within a large area measuring 10,500m² at the heart of the Business Improvement District.
Surface Solve despatched two specialist Street Cleaning Teams who worked Monday-Thursday, during normal business hours, for a total of three weeks. The two teams employed two of the latest, environmentally safe, low pressure, high temperature, Lanceman DiBO chewing gum and graffiti removal machines, supplied by Go-Gum Ltd. The Lanceman DiBO Street Cleansing Machines use no chemicals, only water as the cleaning agent and can easily adapt to safely remove chewing gum, clean street furniture, public seating areas, bicycle racks, litter bins, bus shelters and more!
The 10,500m² area from which discarded chewing gum was removed, consisted of predominantly concrete slab paving and large block paving areas, along with items of street furniture which were also cleansed of dirt, grime and discarded chewing gum. The Lanceman DiBO hot water, low pressure system proved to be the best way to clean paving slabs of discarded chewing gum in Sutton town centre.
Commenting on the Successful Sutton BID project, Go-Gum Group managing director Rob Dixon said: “The Successful Sutton BID project is a fantastic example of a local community coming together to improve their local area for the benefit of everyone. The Surface Solve Street Cleaning Team were delighted to help and used our latest environmentally safe technology, The Lanceman DiBO, which is the best way to clean paving slabs and block paving of discarded chewing gum in Sutton town centre. The whole area now has a brighter, friendlier and more welcoming feel.”
