Walthamstow High Street and Rosebank Villas Receive Post Construction Deep Clean and Pave-Saver Protection

A New Look for Walthamstow High Street, Sealed with Pave-Saver

Walthamstow High Street is one of the longest outdoor markets in Europe, a bustling, vibrant thoroughfare that sits at the very heart of its community. When a major new paving scheme was completed across Walthamstow High Street and the adjoining Rosebank Villas, it fell to the Go-Gum Group to deliver the all-important finishing touch — a thorough post construction deep clean and two protective applications of Pave-Saver.

The works were carried out on behalf of main contractor Riney, who were delivering the paving scheme for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. With 2,300m² of newly laid paving across the two locations, the scale of the task called for an efficient, well-coordinated operation, carefully managed to minimise disruption to the busy high street environment. All works were undertaken during daytime hours.

Surface Solve Ltd, the Go-Gum Group’s street scene subsidiary, despatched a team of two operatives along with a single Go-Gum Lanceman DiBO street cleaning machine, fitted with two lances. Working methodically across the newly laid paving, the team used the DiBO to deliver a thorough post construction deep clean, removing the residual construction grime, dust and surface debris that inevitably accumulates during any major paving scheme.

With the cleaning phase complete, the same operatives then set about applying two coats of Pave-Saver across the full 2,300m² of new paving. Pave-Saver is the Go-Gum Group’s specialist paving protector, formulated to penetrate deeply into stone and masonry surfaces, repelling water, oil, grease, airborne dirt, acid rain, organic growth and, crucially for a busy high street, discarded chewing gum. Its stain-repellent properties ensure that newly laid paving retains its clean, smart appearance even under the demands of heavy daily footfall.

The entire project, encompassing both the deep clean and the double application of Pave-Saver, was completed within five days — a testament to the experience and efficiency of the Surface Solve team. The finished result sees Walthamstow High Street and Rosebank Villas looking their very best, with the new paving well-protected and ready to withstand the rigours of one of London’s most well-loved street markets.
