Certainly Not Another Fine Mess!

County Square in Ulverston, South Lakes is protected using Pave-Saver.

South Lakeland District Council has specified Pave-Saver, as part of their re-generation scheme, to protect around 1000m² of violet mix porphyry paving and Royal White granite kerbing in and around County Square, Ulverston.

The focal point of County Square is the bronze statue immortalising the comedy genius of Laurel and Hardy which is situated outside the Coronation Hall theatre, in the town of Ulverston, where Stan Laurel was born. The £60,000 sculpture was designed and created by Graham Ibbeson, who is also known for his work on previously immortalised statues of Eric Morecambe in Morecambe, Benny Hill in Southampton and Les Dawson in Lytham St Annes.

Another Fine Mess!

The Go-Gum Street Cleansing Team began by deep cleansing the County Square area, removing chewing gum build up, staining and grime from the pavements and kerbing, before applying Pave-Saver. The whole area surrounding the iconic statue is now better protected from chewing gum, staining and urban pollution thanks to Pave-Savers unique, environmentally friendly formula.

Pave-Saver can be supplied directly to the customer or applied by the Go-Gum Street Cleansing Team. Pave-Saver is used to stop the impregnation of staining to pavements, reduces gum build up by approximately 95% and will continue to protect surfaces for many years to come. Pave-Saver is non-slip and invisible and will therefore maintain the look of the paving in and around the County Square area.

Rob Dixon, Managing Director of Go-Gum Limited commented: "The Laurel and Hardy statue will attract tens of thousands of vistors each year. Our Street Cleansing Team were able to restore the area to it's original state, and with the application of Pave-Saver, help to protect it's appearance for many years to come".
